Big deal

Set in the cutthroat world of clique wars at a New England boarding school, where gossip and rumor have the power to create and destroy both reputations and self-perceptions, BIG DEAL is an indie pop reimagining of Much Ado About Nothing in the grand tradition of 10 Things I Hate About You and Clueless. It re-centers the Shakespearean narrative around the women and their relationships with each other, rather than the reaction that the men in their lives have over them. This old story’s adaptation into a modern context helps us see how far we've come, and how much further we still have to go—400 years of feminist progress, and the worth of a woman is still measured by her supposed "virtue”.
