His recent work includes having served as copyist for BACK TO THE FUTURE (Broadway) and as librarian for Audra McDonald at Carnegie Hall. A more thorough account of his music preparation work can be found here.
He recently orchestrated Alex Syiek’s THE SHOW ON THE ROOF (Boise Contemporary Theatre, book by Tom Ford,) and produced Kara Arena’s debut singer-songwriter album SOMETHING BLUE [Spotify | Apple Music]. Additional orchestrations and arrangements have been featured at A.R.T. (Cambridge, MA,) Barrington Stage (Pittsfield, MA,) Harvard University, the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, with Cirque du Soleil, and with Rodgers & Hammerstein for their “RnH Goes Pop!” Youtube series.
Originally from Cape Canaveral, Florida, he’s written music for four full-length musicals, including The Quantification of Relative Human Insignificance (book & lyrics, Lauren Taslitz), which was a finalist for the 2018 Sigworks MT Lab and a semi-finalist for the O’Neill MT Conference in 2017 and 2018; Big Deal (book & lyrics, Keurim Hur), an excerpt of which was produced by Musical Theatre Factory in 2017 as part of their “4x15” series; and Ultimate Storytime (book, Thomas Sanders), which recorded an original cast recording before embarking on a national tour in 2016. Both The Quantification and Big Deal received 29-hr readings at NYU Tisch’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.
In 2018, Lauren and Jacob were awarded a developmental residency at the Catwalk Institute for a new musical, For the Birds. He performed a concert of his work at Lincoln Center in 2018 as part of the library’s Broadway’s Future Songbook series and another concert of his work at Barrington Stage Company, produced by William Finn.
